Over the past year patients working their way through phase III Cardiac Rehabilitation have had the opportunity to take part in a remote service to help monitor their vitals and progress. Some members of our phase IV classes are still part of this remote service and their blood pressures, heart rates, activity and weight can be monitored continually. the Benefits of using technology like this is that if there are any changes in health circumstances, changes in measurements may highlight anything early on and it can be raised to a health clinician. It has also acted as somewhat of a motivational tool for things like healthy weight loss, activity goals, and better health. If this is something that interests you please read on.

Remote monitoring will eventually pick up and become standard in my opinion. There is a small cost to it, the benefits however for long term management can be huge. Any changes in your data points, heart rate, blood pressures, weights and activities can be markers. I really hope that this kind of approach can be provided for all in cardiac rehabilitation in the near future to increase our fitness, health and confidence. For the people who have this equipment already, it would be great to have your opinion too in the comments.
